The second #1 prospect I am going to introduce you to is Noelvi Marte. He is not just a dominant hitter with exceptional bat speed (that’s really good though), he is a very streaky hitter and can carry just any lineup he is playing with. That’s what makes Noelvi Marte the Cincinnati Reds #1 prospect.
Let’s get down to business. When Noelvi Marte got drafted into the Seattle Mariners system (minors) he immediately became one of Seattle’s best prospects. Quickly he was traded to the Reds, but still was a top prospect. Marte has so much raw power and keeps his strikeouts to a minimum that in the 2023 season he had 7 home runs in 16 days (he ended up having 14 that year). He also had a 13 game hitting streak to end the season. He is young, 22, but the big question is as he ages will his body will slow down. Also because Marte plays short and 3rd he may have a tough time breaking through because the Reds already have a great infield. Hopefully he will be a great player in the future and be remembered as one of the #1 top prospect of 2023.
And if you missed the first prospect in my series,Andrew Painter, be sure to check it out …
